Pipe-Smoking Competition 2006

The British Pipe-Smoking Championship 2006 took place on Sunday 11th of June. Once again, Guy took part, read all about it here.

Horror Express Publications

New at the Book Store, a book has been added: "Come on in and Join us" is classic Guy N. Smith, a fine example of the suspense and spine-chiller terror his pen evokes, one again defining him as one of the masters of the genre.

This release, by Horror Express Publications is a fine addition to any serious fan's collection. It is a promotional release to coincide with the release of the Horror Express magazine, and is limited to 100 copies that have been SIGNED by Guy. Read the Synopsis here.

Garry Charles

Unlike many authors, Guy has always been very generous-spirited and open to sharing his experience and knowledge with new writers. New author Garry Charles says Guy is one of his inspirations. New Guy N. Smith Collectables

John Humphries is an accomplished artisan and a good friend of Guy's. The result of a recent meeting is that new GNS Pyrographic Art is now available to buy direct from the site.

Crabs on the Rampage Poem

Having recently stumbled upon Guy's book Crabs on the Rampage, George Mansfield bought and read the whole of Guy's Crabs series in a period of two weeks. This inspired him to write a poem based on Crab Attack. We are very pleased to publish his poem for the first time here on the site.

New Anthology

Guy has contributed a story to an anthology of horror stories by UK resident writers to be published in the USA this year, titled "Unrestrained Kreations". Guy is always willing to consider requests for contributions to anthologies of Horror, SF and Fantasy - don't hesitate to contact him!

British Pipe-Smoking Champion 2003

In June 2003, Guy entered the British Pipe Smoking Championship held in Solihull in the West Midlands, as a representative of the London Pipe Smoking Club. The objective of the competition was to see who can make one pipe-bowlful of tobacco last the longest; each competitor was given one pipe, three grams of tobacco and two minutes to prepare. An umpire at each table monitored progress, compelling participants to "produce smoke" - those failing to do so were dismissed.

Guy beat thirty other smokers, including the twice-British champion and British record holder, Andrew Briggs, beating this latter by sixty seconds, coercing his tobacco to last for one hour, thirty-eight minutes and thirty-one seconds. Thus Guy is currently the British Pipe Smoking Champion! Guy received a handmade Davidoff pipe worth £240 from organizers at the Old Silhillians Sports Club, Warwick Road, Knowle. Following his success, Guy was consequently inundated with requests for interviews within various media, including television, radio and newsprint, and from as far afield as Canada and the US.
