The World Horror Convention (WHC) is an annual literary-based event for the horror industry, centered around authors, publishers, editors, artists and others related to the creation and production of scary books.
This year the convention was held in Atlanta, USA from May 7 – 10.
I was invited to attend the annual World Horror Convention in 2010 which was held in Brighton, UK
Many old friends and acquaintances greeted me and the years rolled back as names and faces emerged from the past, too many to list individually, but it was great to see everyone.
The GNS sales and signing table was kept busy from 1.00 – 2.00pm, the time allotted for this. On the stand with me was Brooke Vaughn, (aka Sara Brunsdon) launching her first novel ‘The Barn’ which was published that week.
Every year Guy throws open his home and welcomes fans both old and new. The annual convention will be held on Sunday, September 7th this year starting at 1.00pm. Families and children are more than welcome. There will be the usual on-going buffet, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee etc.
There will be an opportunity to browse and buy Guy’s books and on offer at the auction will be the original manuscript for his latest book ‘Hangman’s Hotel’.
Paul Adams, who is a long-time fan and good friend of mine, was kind enough to write the foreword for Hangman’s Hotel.
We had hoped that he would be attending the convention but he has a trip booked to Romania where he will be conducting vampire research. His books will be available at the convention including his latest, ‘Written in Blood’, a Cultural History of the British Vampire.
If you plan to attend please drop Guy a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01588 640551 to let him know so he can cater for the numbers.
If you would like information on local B&B’s or directions to Guy’s house please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Hope you can make it…
