Synopsis

Garn, the goshawk and his mate, Ka, captured in their native Russia are brought over to England, are subsequently released in an area  around Hopwas Wood.  But here they are still under threat, for the countryside conceals hidden enemies – thieves eager for eggs and others who bitterly resent the presence of the fierce birds of prey and are prepared to take violent action against them.

Jonathan Guy, environmentalist and nature lover, has written an absorbing and thought-provoking story around the great birds, interweaving their lives with wild creatures and characters from his earlier books.
